Micromax has announced their new flagship devices, the Canvas 6 and the Canvas 6 Pro, both coming at a price tag of Rs 13,999.
While the "Pro" version has already gone up for pre orders, the Normal variant of this phone is expected to be available soon.
Both the smartphones feature a 5.5 inch 1080p panel with a pixel density of 401 ppi. While the Heart of the Canvas 6 is an 'unidentified' Mediatek Octa-Core Chipset, the Pro variant comes with the MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 Chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz.
While the Canvas 6 will be the first Micromax smartphone to sport a finger print scanner, a full metal body combined with great front & rear camera, the Canvas 6 Pro is a performance beast with a 4 GB RAM and also the first Indian smartphone to run Helio processor.
Created with an insight that an average consumer spends about 15 seconds to pull out the first level of information and 12-14 taps to get to the information, the new personal assistant ‘AROUND’ provides a seamless experience that simplifies and saves a user time and effort to switch between plethora of apps.
The differences between these two phones are that the normal variant comes with 32 GB Internal Storage while the Pro (not so pro) variant comes with 16 GB of Internal Storage.
Both smartphones bear a 3000mAh battery and a 13-megapixel rear camera, while the Canvas 6 bears an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and the Canvas 6 Pro a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Both phones come with Around UI on top of Android, and feature the Gaana app as the default music player app. The phones also come with Udio (Wallet App) pre installed.
Despite the less amount of RAM and a less powerful chipset, the Canvas 6 seems more appealing to me than the Pro variant which is all plastic and feels cheap in the hand as well.
