Intel India today announced a series of initiatives that strengthen its support for the Digital India programme launched by the Government of India. At an event held today, Intel India detailed three projects designed to accelerate digital literacy  at the grassroots level by reaching out to the population in non-urban India, upskill citizens in tier 2 cities and beyond, and encourage innovation from the local level.

Building on the momentum of its Ek Kadam Unnati Ki Aur initiative to accelerate access to technology in non-urban India, Intel India e-launched its latest ‘Unnati Kendra at Common Service Centre’ (UK at CSC) in Karnal, the first in Haryana. This ‘UK at CSC’ will serve as one of the common access digital learning centers for people of the state and Intel India aims to open several more of these facilities in the state. Based on a strong public private collaboration, and the government’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” that stresses upon collective effort for inclusive growth, Intel India is working with the government to open a network of up to 100 ‘UK at CSC’ facilities across ten states this year, with 10 such facilities already set up in the state of Telangana. At these facilities, Intel India is providing access to devices, relevant local content and training for citizens that will also help them develop and nurture their self-expression and creative capabilities. Trained personnel at these centres are also conducting in-depth sessions on digital literacy, computer skills and internet facilities, along with dedicated guidance sessions in entrepreneurship, language and vocational training, with the goal of creating opportunities for non-urban education, employment and empowerment.


Intel India also announced the Digital Unnati website, being set up in collaboration with the CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. It will enable Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to learn how to assemble a PC online and upskill their technology know-how.

In addition, inspired by the overwhelming response and the success of the first chapter of the Intel & DST - Innovate for Digital India Challenge (“Challenge”), Intel India is laying the groundwork for launching the Challenge later this year. This Challenge supports local innovation and entrepreneurship and is a nationwide competition inviting technology solutions to solve real problems faced by our citizens.

Intel India recently announced the three winning teams of the 2015 Challenge viz: teams TJay, Asha+, and Jayalaxmi Agrotech. These teams developed commercially viable strategies and prototypes based on Intel® architecture and with the engineering support, expert mentoring  and access to funds from Intel. They have created solutions for the agricultural and healthcare sector and will now have access to equity investments of up to INR 2,000,000 per team from CIIE to take their products to market.

Panasonic today added another product to their Eluga lineup, the Eluga A2 which comes at a price of INR 9490.
The Panasonic Eluga A2 comes with a metallic brush effect design and it is a 5 inch smartphone with 4G VoLTE. The phone has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB Internal Storage. The Storage is expandable upto 128 GB. The phone is considered to be light weight even though it has 4000 mAh large battery.


The phone also comes with 8 MP Rear Camera with LED Flash and 5 MP Front Camera. 



The best buy price for that is INR 9490. The device weighs 167 grams and still has the capability of fitting in a humongous battery which is a 4000 mAh non user replaceable battery.

HTC India has finally launched their New Flagship, the HTC 10 in an event held in New Delhi, India


The HTC 10 comes with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. The device being a flagship comes with a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM which has become mandatory for Flagships like Galaxy S7, LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi5. The device comes with all Metal body and sports a Home button on the front of the device below the Display with capacitive buttons placed alongside. The device comes with a 12 Ultra Pixel rear camera having 1.55um per pixel with Dual LED flash and Laser Autofocus it comes with f/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation, Pro Mode, Zoe Capture, hyper lapse, 12X slow motion mode and 4K video recording. The camera is said to launch in just 0.6 seconds and it also supports RAW format as well.

The HTC 10 comes in two variants based on storage space, 32GB and 64GB along with a microSDXC card slot which helps in expansion up to 2TB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The device comes with a 3000mAh battery along with connectivity features like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB 3.1 Type-C port. HTC said that the HTC 10 features the world’s first stereo 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording, capturing 256 times more detail than standard recordings, across twice the frequency range. The device comes with a headphone amp which delivers two times the power of a conventional headphone amp. It comes with the ability to upscale from 16-bit to 24-bit audio and digital to analog conversion is available to give the best audio. About 168 hours of extreme temperature tests are performed, according to HTC, to ensure that the HTC 10 doesn’t show any kind of heating or other issues. The temperature tests ranged from -20°C (-4°F) to 60°C (140°F), and plus over 10,000 drop, bend, scratch, and corrosion tests were done alongside it. So, we aren’t just looking at a well controlled phone by its temperature, but also something that can take a beating. The HTC 10 is available in four colors Carbon Grey, Glacial Silver, Topaz Gold and Camellia Red.

Xiaomi has just unveiled a new gadget in a newer space of electronics, the Xiaomi Mi Drone. Drones are hot and the category is quickly growing, and with some leaders in the space having the drones at a high price, Xiaomi seems to have priced the Mi Drone quite right with the options to select a camera resolution while purchasing.

Most of the parts of this Mi Drone as serviceable, and that makes it a better choice than the others, and even the camera module can be detached and replaced with a different one. Xiaomi has partnered with Flymi to make these drones, and will be selling them under the Mi branding.

Mi Drone
The Mi drone is said to have a 5100 mAh battery, which is replaceable as well and it is said to fly for about 27 minutes per session. The range for flying the drone is about 3km. The drone also comes with a handheld remote that helps control the Mi Drone, and there would be an option to mount a smartphone and watch the live feed from the camera in the drone.
For the details, Xiaomi’s website shows only this for now and the company is yet to put up the full spec list. As for the price, it is 2499 Yuan (about USD 380) for the model with a 1080p camera, and for the one with 4K video camera it costs 2999 Yuan (about USD 450).

The availability is different for both the models. While the 1080p camera model will be crowdsourced through the Mi Home App from May 26th. The 4K model drone will be put up on early testing through an open beta program at the end of July 2016. All these are only in China for now, and there are no details about the availability in other regions.

LeEco (formerly LeTV) is holding an event in New Delhi, India on June 8 for the launch of it's latest devices, the Le 2 and the Le Max 2. These smartphones were earlier introduced in China a few weeks back.

Le 2:

The Le 2 is powered by the deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset and it has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage (no MicroSD card slot). This is going to be the first device to have the Helio X20 chip. The brightness range of the display ranges from 1 nit to 500 nit. The rear 16-megapixel camera has phase detection autofocus, QR code scanning, F/2.0 aperture, while the 8-megapixel camera on the front has a 1.4-micron pixel size.

Dual 4G reversible connector and support for VoLTE is also provided in the LeEco Le 2. The battery has Le Flash charging, the fast charging technology.


Le 2 Pro:


The Pro version comes powered by the Helio X25 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The display is of 5.5-inch in size. The back camera is the Sony IMX230 21-megapixel camera with the 1/2.4-inch sensor size.

Le Max 2 Pro:

The Le Max 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device has a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with Super Retina display technology. On the camera aspect, the Le Max 2 has the IMX230 sensor from Sony with the 21MP resolution on the back of the device. It has phase detection autofocus, and features similar to the Le 2 Pro.

LG India has finally sent out media invites for their flagship launch in India on June 1.

As per specifications are concerned, the LG G5 has a 5.3 inch Quad HD Display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor.

The phone still supports a removable battery and storage expandability while upgrading the build quality of the phone and incorporating a fingerprint scanner. All thanks to it's special feature, modularity.

It would be running on the LG’s custom UI based on Android Marshmallow. In the camera department, the device houses a 16-megapixel image sensor as well as a wide-angle 8-megapixel resolution on the rear side which is different from the HTC M8 from yesteryear and both the cameras work independently. It does support NFC and incorporate a USB Type-C port. 

While the price of the phone hasn’t been revealed, the company has started taking pre-orders on Flipkart with a free LG Cam Plus module for early adopters. Seeing the pricing trend of LG from past, we are guessing a 50-54k INR price point.

Samsung India today announced the launch of Galaxy Tab Iris featuring iris-recognition technology that is ready for Aadhaar authentication through an integrated and highly secure biometric device. The Galaxy Tab Iris will provide cashless and paperless services in various applications such as banking, eGovernance services such as passport, taxation, healthcare and education.


The easy-to-use biometric technology, currently incorporated in the Galaxy Tab Iris will help India spread its Digital India vision of providing technology so that every citizen of the country can have access to financial inclusion benefits. The solution will support government benefit programs and enable banks and financial institutions to streamline the process of an individual’s authentication, regardless of language and literacy barriers.

The device is Aadhaar-compliant and STQC-certified. Galaxy Tab Iris is yet another Make for India innovation from Samsung. Embedded in a secure device, the advanced iris-recognition technology will provide an integrated solution that will help to solve the hassles of using separate devices for biometric identification.

Embedded Iris Solution for Advanced Data Security
With embedded iris technology in Galaxy Tab Iris, Samsung has initiated the use of contactless technology that provides unmatched security for authentication. Aadhaar serves as an important database for majority of government projects such as Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), National Health Mission (NHM), eHospital program, DigiLocker and more under the Digital India initiative to provide welfare services to citizens. Developing a Robust Ecosystem

The capability of the Galaxy Tab Iris is to function as an authentication device enabling banks and financial institutions to easily authenticate an individual’s data for account integration with their Aadhaar numbers as well as provide an additional layer of security for banking services such as locker access, fixed depositswhere authentication is required. The iris-recognition technology will also further reduce the need for cumbersome paperwork, allowing people to enrol for banking and financial services in a more efficient paperless manner.
